More than 100 Chicagoland executives gathered to discuss the diverse and motivated talent pipeline community college graduates comprise for the region's workforce. In his keynote address, Mayor Emanuel said, "Today, because of One Million Degrees and the community colleges and their reputation, the World Bank calls the City Colleges of Chicago the best college to career program in the USA."

After [OMD Alumna Jackie Sanchez] was accepted at DePaul, [she] volunteered to become a One Million Degrees coach. “You can’t do it on your own,” Sanchez said. “I know I’m the one staying up nights and doing the homework, but you need someone in your corner. After I had that experience I just wanted to do more and give back.”
