In a welcome address, City Colleges of Chicago Chancellor Juan Salgado urged students to seize full advantage of their community college education, calling the experience the “launching pad” for future opportunities. Speaking to 500 OMD Scholars and Alumni, he called the students “the largest single asset in the City of Chicago,” adding, “No other institution of higher learning is as diverse and as capable of transforming your lives and the lives around you.”

In addition to orientation, OMD also hosted its inaugural Alumni Leadership Institute and the OMD Works Career and Resource Fair, featuring employers Aon, Camping World, CDK Global, UI Health, and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
