Mayor Emanuel Praises OMD at 3rd Annual Corporate Leaders Breakfast

More than 100 Chicagoland executives gathered to discuss the diverse and motivated talent pipeline community college graduates comprise for the region's workforce. In his keynote address, Mayor Emanuel said, "Today, because of One Million Degrees and the community colleges and their reputation, the World Bank calls the City Colleges of Chicago the best college to career program in the United States of America."

The breakfast also featured a timely panel discussing how the changing workplace is creating new demands – and new opportunities – for community college students. Moderated by Tim Knowles, founder and Managing Partner of the Academy Group, the panel included Bridget Gainer, Vice President of Global Public Affairs, Aon, an OMD apprenticeship partner; BJ Kham, an Aon apprentice and Harold Washington Scholar; Dr. Griffin Myers, Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer, Oak Street Health; and, Guillermo Cuello, an OMD Scholar at Wilbur Wright College and intern at Oak Street Health.
